From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A government is the organization, or agency through which a political unit exercises its authority, controls and administers public policy, and directs and controls the actions of its members or subjects. Typically, the term "government" refers to the civil government of a sovereign state which can be either local, national, or international. However, commercial, academic, religious, or other formal organizations are also governed by internal bodies. Such bodies may be called boards of directors, managers, or governors or they may be known as the administration (as in schools) or councils of elders (as in forest). The size of governments can vary by region or purpose. Growth of an organization advances the complexity of its government, therefore small towns or small-to-medium privately operated enterprises will have fewer officials than typically larger organizations such as multinational corporations which tend to have multiple interlocking, hierarchical layers of administration and governance. As complexity increases and the nature of governance becomes more complicated, so does the need for formal policies and procedures. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License What are your options when the government is a thief and will not return what it stole? Q. Obviously taking the government to court is a non starter in the country where the government appoints the judges. Clearly if you do not have the means to pursue the government on an international arena, the only solution is peaceful non payment of anything which the government thinks you owe it in the future. That being all future avoidable taxes of any kind, including any fines or government duties. If the government does not play fair, then the only solution is to make the government redundant. Does anyone have a more acceptable solution to resolving this form of conflict? (short of stealing from the government?) Some judges may be independent, but you can be sure that lawyers are not able to act without conflicting interest. As… [cont.] Asked by James - Wed Jan 16 09:13:51 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. In Malaysia, there are many areas where the government has investments through its investment arm or through the ruling party's investment arm. Do we vote for a certain political party to form a government so that it can be rich and the people be poor or deprived of the fruits of economy? I totally disagree with too much investment by the government. The people should be allowed to participate in such investments. Not just the ruling government and its cronies. This is not democracy. This is day light robbery. Asked by bornfreemalaysian - Wed May 26 23:06:20 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Best government is small government. Even in democracy, we vote for whatever party or whatever person. That doesn't give them right to over taxes us. Governement run business is bad idea because govenment's business can run even in negative profit. This mean bad business system just keep living suck up taxespayer's money. Q. It would help to explain the government. Was it a communist type of government? Thanks. Asked by Tha #1 Prodigy - Mon Feb 9 20:45:53 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Japan had 2 incidents just before WW2 which meant the military got power over government. The military killed Prime Minister and wanted Emperor to get initiative. However, it meant the military would get initiative over Japan. Emperor was just a puppet ruler cuz he was raised with the policy "the Emperor reigns, but doesn't govern." He did not have any right to govern without Minister of State's autograph. It is said that not only citizens but also even Emperor could not go against military at that time. If people protested against war, they were called like "the unpatriotic" and they were arrested or killed by military. So it was the military who wanted to invade other countries. Maybe it was like present North Korea. It looked… [cont.] Answered by Terra - Tue Feb 10 01:10:14 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "government" A government is a body that has the authority to make and the power to enforce laws within a civil, corporate, religious, academic, or other organization or group.
