Q. Mohamad Khatami is iranian former president and Ahmadinejad is current president, I seek american's opinion.

A. I hope Khatami wins. He and Rafsanjani were far better representatives of the Iranian people than the populist demagogue Ahmadinejad who plays into the hands of US warmongers. Khatami has a good record in dealing with the US and a good record as president of Iran. Both the US and Iran need reasonable, moderate leaders to diffuse tensions in the middle east, and to reestablish diplomatic relations and trade. And, this really is what the US people want. "Dead Markist" is not typical of most Americans. If the US could make peace with the USSR despite the thousands of missiles each country had aimed at each other, it can make peace with Iran, a relatively small country that enriches uranium to only 5%. If the US could make peace with a… [cont.]

A. A great man, the defender of peace and talk between nations and cultures. Did multi dimensional works in Iran. First and most important the economic, second the foreign relations, and many other important things. The question is why did people vote Ahmadi Nejad to office after Khatami. The answer is that the people of Iran want to have money in their hands, it doesn't matter for them if the economy of the entire country doesn't improve. Ahmadi Nejad came over and gave the people all the money that Khatami had collected in the Government's treasury. The money that was reserved for the case of an emergency and the improvement of economical projects. People didn't know that because Iranian broadcasting only supports Ahmadinejad and people in… [cont.]

Q. From 1997 to 2005 he led the only liberal government in Iran since 1979. Another very interesting figure in Iranian politics is Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri. Here's a toast to them both... there are some progressives left in Iran yet.

How do you think the Iranian presidential election will affect the relations between the US and Iran?
Q. Former president Mohammad Khatami has announced his nomination for president again, and will run against current president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. While Khatami was president, he pushed for easing the tension between Iran and the West. While Ahmadinejad was president, he increased tensions and isolated Iran from the rest of the world. Will the outcome of this election be a sign of Iran wanting to rejoin the world stage?

A. Two stupid ones, two wise ones: Bush + Obama vs. Ahmadinejad + Khatami. so far the stupid ones have had more effects: US-Stupid, Bush supported reformists in Iran, specially the Iranian-Wise one, Khatami. As a result Khatami became excommunicated by the Supreme Leader, and it made things worse between USA and Iran. Here, Iranian-Stupid, Ahmadinejad supported US-Wise, Obama; months ago, Ahmadinejad wrote a letter to him and expressed his brilliant thoughts there. As a result, Obama took a step back and denied what he had said about Iran. He lost some of his votes. Again this made things worse. The only solution --if there is any- is to have both wise ones together. It is hoped that Obama and Khatami can make the relationship better. … [cont.]

A. Condi can keep her mouth shut. Actually, the Muslim terrorists in Gaza seem very effective at eliminating one another. On the average, in the last several days Arabs have murdered 30 other Arabs per day in Gaza. Their newest tactic is to tie up a fellow Muslim and throw him off a skyscraper. Perhaps they are doing the work for the West. The whole "Palestinian People" is made up, just to try to eliminate Israel. The Land of Israel is the biblical home of the Jewish People, and the Jewish People have maintained a presence there continuously. If you were naive enough to believe what you hear on the news and media, you would think there is an entity called a "Palestinian people," who lived in a "country/state/area" called Palestine… [cont.]

What kind of advice is Berger giving Mrs. Clinton?
Q. There are two kinds of crooks. The first cuts a deal. He tells the government what he knows and forever after is ostracized and hunted by his old partners in crime. The second is stand-up. He keeps his mouth shut. After serving his time, he is welcomed back into the fold. He might even get a bump up in rank from his grateful bosses. No, we re not talking about The Sopranos. What we have in mind is a new episode of a tawdry soap opera that began in the 1990s. Welcome to the case of disgraced former national security adviser Sandy Berger and what it portends about a potential President Hillary. Now Berger is back in business at Camp Clinton, advising New York s junior senator in her bid for the White House. This warrants a review of… [cont.]

A. Assalamualaikum Khatami is not in the running for Presidency and I would've wanted him to have been the next President of Iran if he were running for it. My next choice has to be Ahmadinejad as I don't think he has done that bad a job with Iran and he seems very intelligent and wise. Just what advice can Berger give Hillary anyway?
Q. It can t be legal advice: Berger forfeited his law license. It s unlikely he d be much help on Iran: The Clinton administration didn t respond to the Khobar Towers bombing (in which19 U.S. Air Force personnel were killed) because Berger and others were convinced that then Iranian president Mohammed Khatami was going to reform the hard-line mullahs. Berger failed on al Qaeda, too: Clinton declined to respond to the terror network s bombing of the U.S.S. Cole (17 U.S. Navy personnel killed) because, according to Clinton, Berger s intelligence services couldn t tell him who did it. Sandy Berger was a failure as national-security adviser. Then he became a criminal.

A. Berger has something on the Clintoons for sure. She wouldn't be stupid enough to hire a known criminal although she does seem to like being surrounded by them. Next thing you know Norman Hsu will be appointed to her campaign finance team... Of course the media will not even make an issue out of this because they love their darling Hillary...

What;s your idea about president Ahmadinegad?
Q. Is it any differences between Ahmadinegad and khatami?
Asked by shahram shabtab - Wed Jan 31 06:51:08 2007 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Khatami is more of a reformist, and not so much of a hardliner. Ahmadinejad is a conservative Islamic fundamentalist, much in the line of Bush being a conservative Christian fundamentalist. There have been news reports that the Iranian Revolutionary Council may replace Ahmadinejad because they don't want a confrontation with the west, and because much of the Iranian economy is suffering because of existing boycotts set forth by the UN. In the last local elections, hardliner candidates only received 20% of the vote in Tehran, whereas Khatami's reformists received much more than that. Ahmadinejad was once mayor of Tehran so it is evident he is losing grip of his power base.
